CHARACTER SLOT Information
To design your own character in the Star Eaters universe you will need a Character slot, known as a Make Your Own [MYO] slot, you will need an account on stareaters.gay to participate in the games/prompts required to obtain MYO slots.
There are many ways someone could obtain a new MYO slot and that includes;
- Welcome gift
- Events
- Foraging
- Obtaining onsite currency VIA art prompts and the Comet Coin bank
- And more to come!
You will also be able to obtain trait upgrades in similar ways!
Basic anatomy
Every Star Eater has these basic components.

Head
The head of a star eater is arguably the most distinctive part of one! While Star Eater designs can vary wildly, their head design is what defines them visually as a Star Eater.
Common Head Shape:
Checklist:
- Circular Eye hole
- Jagged Mouth
- NOTE: can have any ammount or style of jagged points! it just cannot be flat.
- NOTE: Jagged points shouldn't extend past the silhouette of the head.
- One eye [Can be modified with a rare trait]
- Mouth and eye hole are connected [can be modified with a rare trait]
- top of the head is smooth and not jagged! [before horns and spikes are added]
Snoot head shape:
Information:
Snoot heads are the uncommon variant of Star Eater head shape.
This variant causes the Star Eater's head to be shaped like that of a canine's snoot! They will still have the same basic checklist as the common head!

Notes for when this page gets written: Head shape, eye holes, ears, surface + core
Star eaters surface and core
All Star Eaters have both surface and plasma (aka the star eater's "core"). A Star Eater's Surface placement and Core visibility are based on a Star Eater's Core Type !
The most common type of Star Eater- known as Standard Core Star Eaters- always have Surface on their head and neck and must have visible core on their underbelly! You can find out more details about Standard Core star eaters and their lore on this page
For most Star Eater types their core color must be a saturated bright color or white! They can have as many or as few colors in their Core as long as they are blended together to some degree. Soft blending and semi blended are okay but hard line splits with no visible blend are not.
Greys and blacks are not allowed on the core in most Star Eater designs (with the exception of the Void and Voidish subtypes)! Keep your core colors bright and saturated! Some colors that are on the fence between saturated and not may pass or not pass based on the context of the design, please keep this in mind when designing your Star Eater!
The other semi-common core types will be gone into detail below in the Core Types section and on their own lore pages! Special core types such as Synthetic and Void will have their own dedicated pages where designs are gone into detail!
The subtypes
We already went over the Common Core type which is your traditional Star Eater! There are three more basic subtypes and four special subtypes of Star Eater.
Molten subtype
Go to their full page
Molten Star Eaters are the only basic subtype that can have no surface at all! They are characterized as having MOSTLY core and are generally the largest of the subtypes [size can vary, see their page for more info!]
Cold Subtype
Go to their full page
Cold Star Eaters are the only of the basic subtypes that can have no visible core! They differ from the average Common Star Eater in the way that their surface MUST be on the underbelly which is an inverse of the usual!
Livable subtype
Go to their full page
Livables can host life on their surface! They are characterized by having beautiful atmospheres that almost make them look like they're glowing. [go to their dedicated page for an atmosphere guide!]
SPecial subtypes
There are four special subtypes! they each have their own pages as their descriptions are too long to get into on this basic design page!
Void Star Eaters + Synthetic Star Eaters
[unreleased subtypes] Voidish Star Eaters + Shifter Star Eaters
